CHECKUP KIT for Dogs provides a quick, simple, and reliable testing method to observe the general wellness of dogs through at-home urine testing.

Plant-based diets tend to make the urine more alkaline and this must be monitored.
Urine pH of dogs must be kept in the range of 6 - 7. Keeping the pH of the urine in the normal range helps avoid urinary health problems.

We recommend measuring the pH of urine prior to the transition to a plant-based diet (to establish the baseline for comparison) and then 1 month after the transition (to see what effect the new diet has on the pH).

CheckUp is ideal for those who want to monitor their dog’s health in between visits to the clinic, or for those who require regular monitoring through urine collection as recommended by a veterinarian.

CheckUp can detect the most common issues among domestic dogs including high glucose levelskidney failureurinary tract infection (UTI), and blood in the urine. By using CheckUp, you can detect a health condition in time to prevent health deterioration and improve your dog’s lifespan.

BENEFITS:

  • On-the-spot test results for 4 conditions
  • Recommended by top veterinarian
  • 60-second testing
  • Obtain a clean, uncontaminated sample
  • Ideal for aging & overweight pets

 COMPLIANCE AND COMFORT:

The telescopic pole extends to 60 cm, not including the length of the arm of the person conducting the test. This allows pet owners to maintain a comfortable distance from the dog while urinating, to avoid any mess or interference with the dog.

 INSIDE THE KIT:

  • 1 telescopic pole with a detached ring
  • 1 disposable cup
  • 2 testing strips
  • 1 sample collection vial
  • 1 sample collection pipette

HOW TO USE:

Screw the metal ring to the pole and extend it, place the cup in the ring, reach with the pole to catch a sample while the dog is urinating, and bring it home for testing. Fill the vial at 3/4 way using the pipette, and dip the strip into the vial so all squares are submerged. Place the strip quickly next to the Results card and follow the instructions below the table. If necessary, cap the vial and keep it refrigerated. If any of the tests is positive, take the sample to your vet for further testing.

RECOMMENDATION:

We recommend measuring the pH of urine prior to the transition to a plant-based diet (to establish the baseline for comparison) and then 1 month after the transition (to see what effect the new diet has on the pH).

We also recommend checking the pH of urine every 2-3 months after that.

Transition Tips

Gradual transition is the key to a successful transition.

Start by mixing 1 part of new food and 4 parts of old food.

During the next 2 weeks, gradually increase the amount of new food to 100%.

Older pets and picky eaters may need longer time and extra care to completely switch.

Digestive Enzymes can be used to harden up stool during transition.

Nutritional Yeast has a cheesy flavour, which cats and dogs love.

Hydration

Provide ample water to cats and dogs, and especially male cats due to their urinary anatomy.

Water aids with digestion and helps to avoid urinary issues. Water flushes out pathogens, heavy metals, and harmful drugs.

Soak dry kibble in water to make moist food with 1:1 ratio (1 part kibble to 1 part water), and wait for at least 30 min before serving.

Use distilled water whenever possible.

Incorporate wet canned food for better hydration. Mix wet food with dry kibble to increase moisture level.

Use an electric water fountain to entice pets to drink more water.

Care Instructions

Store in a dark, cool place, tightly sealed.

For canned food: after opening, remove remaining leftovers and put into an airtight container for up to 3 days, keep it in the fridge. It can also be portioned out and frozen for later use or served as a frosty treat!

Brush your furry friends' teeth regularly.

Offer dental treats after moist food or add several dry kibbles to help scrape off the plague.
